Ok, let's talk some baseball for a moment: So I'm really trying not to get
too excited about the Cubs' 2008 season, because we all know what happens when we start to anticipate a winning Chicago season-----heartache and depression. However, having said that, the Cubs are looking so good, and are 3.5 games ahead in First Place in their division. And how fitting would it be to go to the World Series this year, since it was exactly 100 years ago, in 1908, that they last played and won a World Series title. While some of the pitching scares me still, the key hits and patient at-bats of every player on this team shows fans that they are hungry for a ring!!!!
Training is progressing. At the end of each week, though, I am starting to feel that I am 31 years old. How sad is that? My knees creak and click constantly, and I understand why you don't see many boxers over 35. It really takes its toll on your body. While the workout is amazing, the stress on your joints is pretty intense. My lower back has been a mess for about the past week, which is something new. There has been talk that I may have a small, what's called a "tune-up" fight, on June 19....but that is not set in stone yet.
