A blog about the mundane-ness of everyday life, musings on how the Cubs will win the World Series, and other oddities involving boxing, women fighters, Thailand, and how work is so damn overrated!!

Final project days....
Things have not been going the greatest with this project and it will remain to be seen whether it gets submitted by the Wednesday deadline. But we continue to attempt completion by going through each SM type to determine its use for our business. Also in class we chose a few other businesses that are similar to our industry to compare SM uses. This was interesting to me because I've noticed that the big box gyms (i.e. Xsport) use SM totally different than that of the smaller gyms. Not necessarily better. But just different. Emerald Smoke, a smaller mma gym, uses SM quite well. They use FB, YouTube very successfully, a blog, a website, and twitter also. Pretty cool for a smaller business.

Project stuff....
This week has really been all about the final project. We are pretty much starting from square one since the company we chose has zero SM strategy. Maybe we should have rethought that :-) We started analyzing who the target market is for the Chicago Institute of Advanced Bariatrics services, and then compared that to certain demographics of SM that we are considering implementing. For example, Twitter may be too "young" for the target market of CIAB. Time will tell on that however. It's also important that we don't get too broad on our topics, and keep the project streamlined, otherwise we will be looking at a huge mess of slides with no focus...... also took a look at some more crim defense blogs in relation to the week 6 discussions. I'm surprised there aren't many in the Chicago area. Perhaps that will be something I focus on once class is over. Maybe there is a need there?
